Scene Video: Woman Arrested After Bathroom Bar Brawl
A bar fight leads police to uncover illegal activity at a Lincoln sports bar.
"I can say that the police have filed a complaint," said Hobert Rupe, Executive Director of the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. "They are alleging a violation of our disturbance rule because I believe there were some injuries, and some sort of physical altercation. That's the basis of the complaint they filed."
Lincoln police were called to Heidelberg's Sports Bar near 33rd and Superior just after midnight Monday.
They say two groups of women were fighting in the bathroom.
While conducting interviews, police say officers learned other women had danced topless and bottomless in the bar. They say they also found pictures on cell phone cameras.
"The fact that they might have been nude could be looked at as a violation of a city ordinance," said Rupe.
Police believe the bar may have allowed the dancing to go on longer than it should have.
Police say the women were customers of the sports bar. Witnesses tell 10/11 they believe the women involved were strippers at a local club.
Police have turned the investigation over to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.
10/11 spoke with a manager at Heidelberg's over the phone. She said the allegation is far fetched, but declines to comment further. She said she was not on duty that night. 10/11 will continue to try to contact the manager who was on duty early Monday morning.
Lincoln Police often turn liquor violation investigations over to the Liquor Control Commission to further investigate and enforce any punishment.
