Playing football (soccer) in Dubai

Hi all,

I'm a 23 year old male from the UK and I moved to Dubai on Monday for work and am living in the Marina.

I've had a pretty good week in terms of settling into work and got invited to the Stone Roses gig last night- 'so far so good'.

I'm still keen to make friends with more people with similar interests, I'm currently renting a room in an apartment where it appears everybody keeps themselves to themselves.

My main interest is football and I played to a fairly good standard back home, does anybody have any advice on joining a team over here? Ideally I would like to play competitive 11-a-side but would also play small-sided games. I was thinking this would probably be a good way to meet some new people on a similar wavelength.

Any advice is much appreciated.
