Buffet Wedding Decorations: Less Is More - TheSnackHound

Buffet tables are sometimes a neglected area in regards to wedding decorations. Often, the theme will extend to the buffet table either simply, creatively, or a little too creatively.

There are no hard and fast rules, as the food is truly the star and the unadorned state of the buffet table is seldom noticed. There are a few guidelines that you want to use. Not all parties feature ice sculptures and spun sugar animals. Sometimes you just want the buffet table to disappear into the background.

1) The easiest way to tie in a buffet table is just with color. A base table linen matching the wedding colors is enough to tie it in.

2) If you choose to decorate the table further, remove elaborate decorations before the food is staged.

3) If the decorations remain through the meal, do they block the view of guests or more importantly block guests from spooning out food? If so, reconsider the strategy.

4) If you must place a large arrangement as a focal point on the table, place it in the center with ample room between the decor item and the food. Use it as a natural break between main courses and sides.

Do you have any simple rules for decorating buffets?
