Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man inside of an Algiers residence early Saturday morning. The New Orleans Police Department said a 37-year-old man was shot and killed shortly after 1 a.m. inside?his home in the 3500 block of Bacchus Drive.
According to police, the victim, identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office as Rogers Green, was "startled by a knock on his bedroom window" and went over to investigate. He then was shot once in the chest by a gunman allegedly standing outside the house.
Responding officers found Green lying in the middle of a hallway inside the home and pronounced him dead on the scene.

Callers or texters do not have to give their names or testify and can earn a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an indictment.
